About Us

The Fine Arts Building is a creative hub that offers artist studio space for lease, giving individual artists and arts organizations a home in downtown Chicago. As home to the Studebaker Theater, it also hosts a variety of performances including NPR’s Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me!, Chicago Opera Theater, the Chicago International Puppet Theater Festival, musicals, and more. Free and open to the public seven days a week, visitors are welcome to explore the history of the building. Once a month, the Fine Arts Building hosts a free Second Fridays open studios event, where visitors can explore the artists’ studios and see special performances.

This living museum features Art Nouveau murals, live performances, instrument makers, a bookstore, art galleries, a Venetian Courtyard, and more, all within a stunning example of 19th century architecture.
