The Center for Talent Development (CTD) at Northwestern University supports curious, academically advanced, and motivated students from age 4 through grade 12 in reaching their full potential. Serving families, educators, and schools, CTD delivers research backed enrichment and accelerated learning opportunities and above-grade-level assessments that help students discover their strengths and pursue meaningful academic challenge.
Rooted in decades of pioneering work in talent development, CTD's unique Pathways approach guides students through progression of learning experiences. Whether students are exploring new interests or diving deeply into a particular subject in which they excel, CTD courses provide structure and flexibility—allowing learners to advance at an appropriate pace and adjust their direction as interests evolve.
CTD offers a wide range of in person and online programs, including weekend, school year, and summer courses in a variety of subjects. In-person course sites include Northwestern’s Evanston campus and South Loop School (summer) in Chicago. In addition to student programs, CTD provides resources for parents, professional learning for educators, and partnership services for schools seeking to strengthen local offerings for advanced learners.
Through its comprehensive programs and supportive community, CTD equips young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to grow as curious, capable, and creative contributors—today and in the future.
