Leap Day Celebration

Helmed by founder and Artistic Director Mark Howard and Associate Artistic Director Chelsea Hoy, the company effortlessly “[stretches] the limits of what Irish dance can do aesthetically and rhythmically” (Chicago Tribune). The program features three world premieres, including American Traffic, a piece co-commissioned by the Auditorium and choreographed by tap dancer and MacArthur “Genius Grant” recipient Michelle Dorrance and tap dancer and choreographer Melinda Sullivan; Home, choreographed by Howard and Hoy; and Listen by Colin Dunne, a leading figure in the world of traditional Irish dance who also incorporates contemporary styles into his work. The program also includes many of Howard’s critically-acclaimed classic pieces and the Chicago premiere of Seán Curran’s Goddes.....
